The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker tries to score a power double leg takedown but McMartin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baker somewhat.
McMartin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Baker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A low kick from McMartin is predictable there

and Baker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McMartin wants to get back to his feet but Baker passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McMartin tries to lock up and control but Baker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Baker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McMartin is looking to escape.

McMartin tries to improve his position but Baker has taken his back! Baker has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will McMartin tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Baker pushes McMartin away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
