This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 7 losses; Joe Dirt! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 11 losses; Lance Walker! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Dirt stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet. Dirt wants to clinch up but Walker keeps it at a distance. Dirt moves into the clinch successfully.
Dirt jumps into guard, dragging Walker to the mat.
Dirt wants to sweep but no luck. Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Walker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dirt looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dirt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dirt is looking for a triangle but Walker pushes his legs off easily.
Walker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dirt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dirt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like Walker might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Dirt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Let's hope that Walker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dirt looking for submissions off his back. Dirt trying to hold on to Walker's head to control him but Walker postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Walker is continuing to stall. Dirt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Walker pulls his head out easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dirt is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Walker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker content to control rather than advance.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Yet more stalling tactics from Walker. Walker is thwarting Dirt's attempts to control the position. Walker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dirt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walker. Walker not doing much here.

Dirt wants to improve his position but Walker is controlling well.
Walker slows the pace down in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Dirt gets a bonus point for attempting more subs. Dirt takes the fight on points by 1 to 0. |
