Banner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Miles quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Banner (2) vs (0) Miles
Banner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Miles knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Banner content to control rather than advance.
Banner seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Miles for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
