Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kent Fredricks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keith Bronson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fredricks. Despite the aggression on Bronson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Bronson tries to bum rush Fredricks with a series of wild strikes but Fredricks uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A looping hook to the body misses from Fredricks. Bronson does a little dance to reset his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bronson! But no joy. Fredricks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Fredricks falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Bronson counter with a right hand. Fredricks has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Fredricks misses with a double jab.
Fredricks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bronson.
Fredricks throwing a counter right hand but Bronson manages to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Bronson. Bronson scores with the left hand. Fredricks knows he should have avoided that one. Bronson digs a good body shot into Fredricks's ribs. Bronson scores with a decent looking hook. Fredricks slips a jab and a cross from Bronson.
Fredricks loads up on a big right hand but Bronson slips the punch. Bronson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bronson lands a slapping body shot.
A combination from Fredricks does no damage. A nice combination there by Bronson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bronson defending well as Fredricks loads up on a big left hand. Bronson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Bronson misses with a hook. Bronson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Fredricks's hands. Bronson cracks a nice hook into Fredricks's ribs. Bronson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fredricks is landing a low percentage of strikes. Bronson lands with a good body shot. Fredricks misses the shot to the body. Bronson with a jab. Fredricks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bronson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fredricks is rocked! Fredricks is breathing heavily. Bronson wobbles Fredricks with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Bronson dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Fredricks to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
