The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shortman shoots for a double leg takedown but Cooper sprawls well. He's pushed Shortman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cooper dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Shortman shoots and misses
and Cooper counters with a stiff right hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Cooper as he connects with a hook.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cooper, as that shot connected.
Cooper throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shortman on the side of the head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cooper.

It looks like James Shortman has been cut.
Cooper scores with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cooper keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Cooper lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Cooper throws a shot to the body.

Cooper drops Shortman with a beautiful combination! Shortman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cooper is looking for the KO!

Shortman is rocked!
James Shortman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Are you kidding me?! Cooper ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Shortman clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
