PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuro Nagasaki (ranked 116 p4p, 622 weight class) and Cadence Collins (ranked 16 p4p, 71 weight class). Nagasaki comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Souls - Joy Division . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 26 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuro Nagasaki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cadence Collins!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagasaki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Collins shoots in for a takedown but Nagasaki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nagasaki misses with an uppercut.
And Collins tries to counter it with a takedown but Nagasaki pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Collins throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nagasaki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Collins is in Nagasaki's guard.

Collins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nagasaki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Collins has managed to get both his arms back between Nagasaki's legs - danger averted.
Collins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nagasaki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Nagasaki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nagasaki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Nagasaki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Collins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nagasaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nagasaki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Collins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A relieved looking Cadence Collins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Yuro Nagasaki spoke after the fight, saying 'How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye to it so hard. Thank you all. Sayounara. 甘い日本、あなたは私を謙虚にしました.'.
