PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JoaoGabriel SCR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen Everybody Down as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JoaoGabriel SCR!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Evans!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SCR feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Evans wants to stand up but SCR is controlling him.

Evans pushes SCR off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
SCR shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evans as he avoids it easily.
Evans tries for a takedown but SCR sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Evans changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. SCR tries to avoid it but Evans manages to keep hold of a leg and drag SCR to the ground. SCR escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
SCR fails to land the takedown.
SCR shoots in looking for a takedown. Evans tries to sprawl out of it but SCR keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Evans manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JoaoGabriel SCR. That's going to take a lot out of him.
SCR shoots for a double leg takedown but Evans sprawls well. He's pushed SCR's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Evans seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but SCR does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
SCR is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
