Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harley King (ranked 1080 p4p, 2299 weight class) and Henri Jospin (ranked 156 p4p, 328 weight class). Jospin has chosen In The Air Tonight as his entrance music. Henri Jospin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harley King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henri Jospin! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King throws a head kick that Jospin semi-blocks.
It looks like Henri Jospin has been cut. King on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. King misses with an uppercut
and Jospin counters with a nice body shot. A head kick misses from King. King just misses with a punch to the body.
King pulls out of a head kick attempt.
King jabbing away but nothing is landing. King looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. King fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. King swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice defenses there by King. A looping hook to the body misses from King. Jospin does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been informed that Jospin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. A low kick lands for Jospin.
King swinging wildly here.
A little jabbing left from Jospin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. King looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. King ducks under a wild hook from Jospin. Jospin jabs at King's body. King on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jospin throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! King crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jospin - the referee stops the clock and King gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jospin. King manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Harley King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. King swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jospin counters with a stiff right hand. Jospin lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. King dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jospin's corner calls for a 1-2. Jospin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jospin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but King is out of range. King misses with an uppercut
and Jospin counters with a three punch combo that has King backing up. King nods at Jospin to acknowledge the strikes.
King is rocked! Jospin has managed to clinch.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! King digs a right hand underneath Jospin's ribcage. Jospin let out a lung full of air as it connected. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King tries a body shot but Jospin blocks it.
Jospin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kings head. King tries to throw a body punch but Jospin avoids it by throwing King back against the cage. Jospin lands an elbow inside. Jospin lands with a light punch inside. Jospin is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Jospin creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends King's eyes rolling into the back of his head! King drops to his knees and Jospin pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henri Jospin! Our winner, Henri Jospin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
