Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blonde Brunson (ranked 3991 p4p, 24504 weight class) and Hayden Allen (ranked 209 p4p, 253 weight class). Blonde Brunson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blonde Brunson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hayden Allen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brunson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Allen avoids it really well and circles away.
Allen now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Brunson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Allen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brunson somewhat.

Brunson gets a takedown into half guard.
Allen is trying to escape back to his feet but Brunson uses the scramble to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brunson.

Brunson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Brunson controlling from side mount.
Allen throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Brunson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Allen to see if he's OK.

Brunson works to advance to full mount. Allen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Brunson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Allen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Brunson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Allen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Allen and Brunson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Brunson is looking to take a break and control but Allen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brunson looks up at the clock and then as Allen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brunson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Brunson happy to just control the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Allen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Brunson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brunson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brunson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Allen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brunson connects with a decent elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!

Allen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Allen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brunson shoots in for a double leg but Allen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Brunson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Allen pushes Brunson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
No luck for Brunson with that takedown attempt.

Brunson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Allen is rocked!
Allen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Brunson is trying to control the action in half guard but Allen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Brunson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Allen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Brunson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brunson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Allen keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brunson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Blonde Brunson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Brunson seems to be looking for submissions.
Brunson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Brunson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Allen defends it well.

Brunson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Allen is still in real trouble! Can Brunson finish him?

Allen has hold of Brunson's hands but Brunson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Allen seems to have recovered his senses.
Brunson content to control rather than advance.

Brunson winds up and cracks Allen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Brunson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Brunson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Brunson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Allen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brunson is in Allen's guard.

Brunson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Allen is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
