Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Rowley (ranked 3729 p4p, 4383 weight class) and Gerald Phoenix (ranked 341 p4p, 362 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Stephen Rowley has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Stephen Rowley seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerald Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix looks to land a left hand but Rowley moved out of range nicely.
Rowley throws a leg kick
and Phoenix counters with a nice uppercut.
Rowley defending well as Phoenix loads up on a big left hand.
Rowley lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Phoenix backs up against the cage.
Rowley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Phoenix sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Phoenix's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Phoenix's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Phoenix is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rowley.
Rowley attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Phoenix misses with the combination.
It looked like Rowley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Phoenix.
Rowley throws a nice head kick!
Phoenix throws a lazy uppercut
and Rowley counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Rowley forces Phoenix back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A short body shot lands from Rowley as the two fighters clinch.
Phoenix working aggressively here.

Phoenix doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phoenix lands with a light punch inside.
Rowley lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Phoenix tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Rowley pulls guard successfully.

Phoenix is sitting in close to Rowley's body. Rowley has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Phoenix is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Phoenix is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rowley.
