Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Loic Duchesne (ranked 2458 p4p, 3154 weight class) and Alpyurek Sanli (ranked 335 p4p, 417 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Loic Duchesne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alpyurek Sanli!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ron Honeybunn and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duchesne misses with a hook.
Sanli thinks about the counter body kick.

and Sanli makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Duchesne fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanli, pushing him back against the cage.

Sanli pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Sanli counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sanli throws a leg kick that misses.

and Sanli counters with a good, hard body kick but Duchesne shrugs it off.

Sanli only half commits to the counter leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanli gets caught napping as Duchesne dives in and scores a takedown. Sanli manages to retain guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanli can do anything to dispel that myth.
Duchesne is pressing down on Sanli's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sanli is holding on for now.

Sanli really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duchesne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sanli is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Duchesne scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duchesne is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanli is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sanli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duchesne connects with a nice short shot to Sanli's temple.

It looks like Alpyurek Sanli has been cut.

That has opened up Alpyurek Sanli's cut even more.
Duchesne works his foot free and advances to mount.
