Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Bacon (ranked 24786 p4p, 22956 weight class) and Dennis Brousard (ranked 673 p4p, 657 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Bacon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dennis Brousard!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brousard wants to clinch up but Bacon keeps it at a distance.
Bacon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brousard darts in looking for a takedown but Bacon gets double underhooks and turns Brousard into the cage.
Bacon is looking to counter the offense by Brousard and move into the clinch.
Brousard tries to clinch but Bacon is having none of it.
Brousard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bacon counters with a low kick, right behind Brousard 's knee.
Brousard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bacon is looking to counter the offense by Brousard and move into the clinch.
Al Bacon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Brousard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brousard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brousard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Brousard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brousard lands in his opponent's guard.
Bacon controls Brousard momentarily but Brousard frees himself.
Bacon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Brousard wants to get up but he can't break Bacon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brousard misses with a takedown attempt
and Bacon counters with an outside leg kick.
Brousard shoots in and drives through. Bacon sprawls well.
Bacon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Brousard shoots for a double leg takedown but Bacon sprawls well. He's pushed Brousard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Brousard tries to get set, Bacon tries to push him back and clinch up but Brousard manages to avoid the attempt.

Brousard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bacon just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brousard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bacon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brousard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bacon walks away with a smile on his face. Brousard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bacon is looking to counter the offense by Brousard and move into the clinch.
Al Bacon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brousard wants to clinch but Bacon slips to the side
and Bacon counters with a nice body kick.

Brousard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice takedown defense from Bacon. No joy for Brousard on that attempt.
Bacon is looking to counter the offense by Brousard and move into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brousard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bacon tries to avoid it but Brousard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bacon to the ground. Bacon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bacon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Bacon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Bacon has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Brousard - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Bacon, and another! Brousard is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
