The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Christmas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tatewaki manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Christmas (2) vs (0) Tatewaki Tatewaki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Christmas passes Tatewaki's left leg - he's now in half guard. Christmas trying to control the action but Tatewaki is working from the bottom. Christmas uses his free foot to push down on Tatewaki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tatewaki. Score +3 for passing guard: Christmas (5) vs (0) Tatewaki Christmas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tatewaki wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Score +3 for taking back: Christmas (8) vs (0) Tatewaki We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christmas keeps control of the position as Tatewaki tries to break free.
