PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Sight (ranked 2043 p4p, 2087 weight class) and Jan Koblav (ranked 281 p4p, 289 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jan Koblav was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Sight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Koblav!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koblav throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sight tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Koblav is in Sight's guard.

Sight will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Koblav drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sight looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sight looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sight!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Koblav throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sight was covering up waiting for the punch and Koblav finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sight gets to his feet. Koblav looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Koblav avoids a punch combination nicely.
Paul Sight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Koblav goes for a double leg but Sight avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sight continues to drive forward.
Jan Koblav seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sight shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Koblav eats them both and turns towards Sight to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Koblav fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Koblav shoots in but Sight avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Paul Sight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Koblav.
Sight connects with a good right hand that stumbles Koblav. Koblav circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sight lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Koblav circles away quickly and effectively.

Koblav feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Koblav is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sight rolls with it to try and escape but Koblav cranks on the arm and Sight is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

A relieved looking Jan Koblav thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
