Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Vieira (ranked 2007 p4p, 1538 weight class) and Jota Be (ranked 247 p4p, 198 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jota Be enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eli Vieira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jota Be!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vieira looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Be really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vieira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Be working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vieira.
Vieira pushes down on Be's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Vieira definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Be trying to hold on to Vieira's head to control him but Vieira postures up.
Vieira is looking to take a break and control but Be is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vieira prevents Be from improving his position.
Vieira lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Vieira is trying to control the action in half guard but Be is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Be taking some punishment here, with Vieira in his half guard.
Be won't allow Vieira to pass to mount.
Be is refusing to be controlled, as Vieira sits in half guard.
Vieira tries to pass to full mount but Be defends it.

Vieira trying to control from half guard but Be is working away.
Be wants to get back to his feet.
Vieira looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Be has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vieira is working away from the top position though.

Be kicks off Vieira and gets to his feet.
Be throws a shot from downtown. Vieira moves away and avoids it.
Vieira throwing a counter right hand but Be manages to avoid it.

Vieira looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vieira trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vieira is stalling in the full guard.
Vieira sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Be's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Vieira with the ground and pound but Be uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Be trying to keep a closed guard but Vieira is proving a slippery customer.
Be keeping full guard, as Vieira tries to pass.
Vieira passes Be's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Be looking for submissions off his back.
Vieira is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Be!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vieira looking to control but Be is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

It looks like Jota Be has been cut.
Vieira landing strikes from the mount.
Vieira is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Vieira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Be is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Be is still trying to improve position.
Be keeps trying to improve his position.
Vieira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Be is looking to escape.
We've been informed that Be has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Vieira with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vieira sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Be wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vieira.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Be really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Vieira wants to control the pace but Be is squirming around nicely.
Be is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vieira lands with some strikes.
Vieira with the ground and pound from mount.
Be avoids a series of strikes thrown by Vieira.
Vieira has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vieira looking to control but Be is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Vieira working for a submission but Be is keeping him at bay.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eli Vieira dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jota Be's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Vieira throws the left hand but Be avoids the punch easily.
Vieira with a poor takedown
and Be counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Be scores with a kick to the midsection.
Vieira jabs at Be's body.
Vieira closes this distance looking for a takedown but Be circles away.
Be tries a quick counter leg kick but Vieira is wise to it.
Vieira shoots in looking for a takedown but Be manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vieira's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eli Vieira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Be fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vieira moves out of range of the strikes.
A counter left hand to the body from Vieira misses its target.
Vieira pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Be follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Vieira closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vieira tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Be is looking for a sweep.
Vieira cracks Be with a big right hand but Be just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
You can see the frustration on Be's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vieira landing strikes.

Vieira tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vieira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Vieira has an Americana. Be didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Vieira is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Vieira hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Eli Vieira!
Eli Vieira got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
