Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ries (ranked 918 p4p, 1744 weight class) and Necmettin Hoca (ranked 131 p4p, 235 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Ries!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.

Hoca bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hoca throws out a counter right but Ries avoids it with no problem.
Hoca throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ries on the side of the head.

Hoca throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ries stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hoca's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ries connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hoca scrambles back to his feet.

Hoca shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hoca lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ries circles away quickly and effectively.
Ries looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ries pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hoca back to the cage. Ries follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Necmettin Hoca has been cut.

Hoca throws a shot from downtown. Ries moves away and avoids it.
Hoca tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ries was well out of range. Poor timing from Hoca.

Ries gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Ries tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Hoca is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Ries buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Ries!! Ries is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Hoca throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Necmettin Hoca!
A less than humble Necmettin Hoca misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
