PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Stalin (ranked 4258 p4p, 4271 weight class) and Pablo Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Montoya's choice of entrance music: Scare. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Stalin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pablo Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Montoya tries to clinch up but Stalin circles away and keeps his distance.
Stalin misses with a takedown
and Montoya counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Montoya forces Stalin back against the cage and clinches.
Stalin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Montoya pulls his leg out and moves away.
Montoya stuns Stalin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Montoya ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Stalin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Montoya lands a jab-cross combination.
Montoya wants to clinch up but Stalin keeps it at a distance.
Montoya shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stalin eats them both and turns towards Montoya to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Stalin attempts a counter takedown but Montoya avoids it well and moves away.
Montoya stalks Stalin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stalin's face. Stalin staggers backwards, shaken.

Montoya displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stalin.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Stalin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Montoya misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Montoya works over Stalin's head and body with a nice combination.
Stalin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Montoya is trying to push Stalin away but Stalin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Montoya tries to break the clinch but Stalin is controlling the position.
Stalin manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Montoya is trying to force a seperation but Stalin has the dominant position.

Stalin drags the fight down to the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

As Stalin backs off Montoya throws a huge counter combo but Stalin manages to avoid it all.
