Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edward Brasil (ranked 3301 p4p, 2392 weight class) and Iain Grier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edward Brasil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Iain Grier! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grier with a body punch. A glancing blow. Brasil doesn't succeed with the takedown and Grier counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Brasil thinking. Brasil takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Grier bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brasil's head backwards. Grier scores with a nice strike. Grier lands a really nice looking cross but Brasil seems unphased.
Brasil shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Grier jabs Brasil to the body, keeping him at a distance. Brasil takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brasil looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Grier won't allow Brasil to pass to mount. Brasil sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Grier defending well though. Brasil drops an elbow to the side of Grier's head. Brasil wants to free his trapped foot but Grier is holding on for dear life with his legs. Grier blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brasil.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brasil trying to pass the guard but Grier defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grier can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grier blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brasil. Grier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brasil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brasil sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Grier defending well though. Grier is pressing down on Brasil's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Grier is trying to keep Brasil in close.
Brasil keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Grier's head. Grier avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brasil sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Grier's guard. Brasil trying to mount his opponent but Grier defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grier regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Brasil. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brasil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brasil trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brasil with a flurry of punches that miss. Brasil connects with a couple of short punches. Brasil connects with a couple of short punches. Brasil stands up over Grier, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Brasil passes Grier's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ground and pound from Brasil. Brasil throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Brasil drops an elbow to the side of Grier's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brasil working Grier over with strikes. Brasil lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Brasil slips a nice elbow through Grier's hands, connecting with Grier's forehead. Brasil working the head and body with strikes. Grier looks winded! Brasil lands with a punch from half guard. Brasil throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Brasil looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Brasil missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We've been informed that Grier has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Brasil lands with a punch from half guard. Brasil working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Grier has hold of Brasil's hands but Brasil slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Brasil moves nicely into side control. Brasil scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brasil lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Grier down.
Brasil in side control lands a decent elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brasil advances to full mount. Brasil lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Grier hang on? Brasil postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Grier looks a forlorn figure.
Brasil landing strikes from the mount. Brasil lands a big elbow. Brasil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brasil cracks Grier with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Brasil is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Grier can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Grier is rocked! Brasil unloading with bombs! Grier is still in real trouble! Can Brasil finish him? Brasil with good strikes from the mount here! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Edward Brasil dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Grier leaves Brasil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Grier looks like he wants to counter punch here. Grier seems to have recovered his senses. Grier keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Grier digs a good hook to Brasil's body.
Grier lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Nice body punch from Grier. Iain Grier seems to be getting the better of the standup. Brasil tries for a takedown but Grier sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Brasil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Grier lands a nice shot to the body.
Edward Brasil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Grier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brasil moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grier connects with a nice looking jab.
Sloppy strikes from Grier. Those never looked like landing. Brasil shoots in but Grier avoids the takedown attempt easily. Grier let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Brasil shoots in looking for a takedown. Grier tries to sprawl out of it but Brasil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brasil tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grier swivels and escapes. Brasil on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Brasil gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Grier lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Grier lands a jab to the nose. Brasil fails with the takedown and Grier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Brasil fails with the takedown and Grier counters with a left and a right that stings Brasil. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brasil tries for a takedown but Grier circles away easily enabling Grier to counter with a crisp jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brasil with a lazy takedown attempt and Grier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Grier lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brasil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Grier avoids it really well and circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brasil. Grier catches Brasil with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Brasil with a poor takedown and Brasil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Brasil shoots and misses and Grier counters with a crisp one two that drops Brasil! Grier thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Brasil to his feet! Brasil is in big trouble!
Brasil is rocked! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brasil. Oh Brasil is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Grier connects with a good right hand that stumbles Brasil. Brasil circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Grier lands a big right hand that sends Brasil crashing to the mat! Grier stays standing though and waves Brasil back to his feet! Brasil shoots and misses and Grier scores with a counter punch that sends Brasil to the canvas! Grier smells blood - he's punishing Brasil with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Brasil has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iain Grier!
