Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cathal Doherty (ranked 1149 p4p, 1602 weight class) and Nikolai Kaspersky (ranked 173 p4p, 229 weight class). Doherty comes to the cage accompanied by Jeremy- Pearl Jam. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cathal Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nikolai Kaspersky!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaspersky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kaspersky bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kaspersky throws a body shot but no joy.
Doherty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Doherty looks to land a left hand but Kaspersky moved out of range nicely.
Kaspersky is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Doherty.

It looks like Cathal Doherty has been cut.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kaspersky working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Kaspersky changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doherty tries to avoid it but Kaspersky manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doherty to the ground. Doherty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A less than humble Cathal Doherty misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
