Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Excalam Black (ranked 1763 p4p, 1881 weight class) and Dusty Rhodes (ranked 250 p4p, 259 weight class). Black's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Signe de contradiction. Rhodes has chosen Dogs Of War as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dusty Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black misses with a right hand
letting Rhodes counter with a right hand.

Black wants to clinch.

Rhodes swings wildly with an uppercut but Black uses good head movement to avoid it.
Black scores with a hook to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rhodes misses with a punch on the inside.
Rhodes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Black is trying to drag Rhodes to the mat but Rhodes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rhodes pushes Black back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

I was talking to Black's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Rhodes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Rhodes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Black backwards.
Black just leaning against Rhodes, taking a breather.
Rhodes tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Black's elbow.
Black tries to throw a body punch but Rhodes avoids it by throwing Black back against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rhodes.

Rhodes misses with the head strike.
Rhodes throws a head punch that misses.
Rhodes misses with some punches.
Black tries a body shot but Rhodes blocks it.
Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Black avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Black misses with a body shot.
Black shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rhodes is trying to defend but Black finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rhodes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rhodes.
Rhodes wants to sweep but no luck.
Black trying to control but Rhodes is working from the bottom.
Rhodes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Black manages to get himself to full guard.

Black looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rhodes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rhodes swings around for an armbar but Black sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rhodes's guard.
Rhodes is controlling Black's posture.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rhodes working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Black.
Rhodes wants to sweep here but Black controlling him for the moment.
Black looking to improve position, pressing down on Rhodes's thigh with his hand. Rhodes seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Black paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Black's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Rhodes picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
