Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elidio Fana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacques Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fana swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tremblay.
Fana misses with a hook

so Tremblay counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tremblay content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fana being controlled here, momentarily.
Fana working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tremblay.
Tremblay controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Elidio Fana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so Tremblay counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tremblay forces his way into half guard.
Tremblay looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Fana looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Fana wants to improve his position but Tremblay is controlling well.
Tremblay is controlling the pace.
Tremblay's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Tremblay might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tremblay slips under a jab from Fana.
Fana throws a lazy right hand but Tremblay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tremblay is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Fana misses the shot to the body.
Fana throws a jab when Tremblay was well out of range.
Tremblay steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Fana.

and Tremblay counters with a takedown into side control.

Tremblay is continuing to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Let's hope that Tremblay has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tremblay is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fana looks calm but he's in trouble here. Tremblay gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fana is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Tremblay lets go of the hold and Fana can pop his arm back in it's socket.
