Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nate Masvidal (ranked 1704 p4p, 1289 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 236 p4p, 191 weight class). Edmonds comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John Edmonds has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, Nate Masvidal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal throws an overhand right that lands on Edmonds's shoulder, as Edmonds tries to avoid the shot.
We've been told by Masvidal's head coaches at Shut Up & Train! {$1000} that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Edmonds cracks Masvidal with a good jab.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Edmonds has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Masvidal misses with a takedown attempt - Edmonds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Edmonds wants to work for an arm triangle but Masvidal is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Masvidal sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Edmonds is stalling here. Masvidal is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Edmonds seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Masvidal has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Edmonds is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Masvidal to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Masvidal shrugs it off.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Edmonds is trying to get back to full guard.
Edmonds keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edmonds is staying active underneath Masvidal, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Edmonds might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Masvidal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edmonds tries to avoid it but Masvidal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edmonds to the ground. Edmonds escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

I've got Edmonds winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
