Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Vincent Lomax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Basko Godwin!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godwin connects with a nice looking jab.
Lomax with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Godwin to score with a decent uppercut.
Godwin tries to score with a low kick but Lomax moves his leg out of the way.
Godwin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lomax stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Godwin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Lomax takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lomax has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Casa Steel in the buildup to the fight.

Godwin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lomax moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Godwin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Lomax counters with a left to the body.

It looks like Basko Godwin has been cut.
Lomax throws a nice inside leg kick.
Godwin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Godwin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice straight punches there by Godwin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Godwin.
Godwin thows a body kick. Lomax tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Godwin fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Lomax was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Godwin.
Lomax lands a really nice looking cross but Godwin seems unphased.

Godwin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lomax lands a nice leg kick that just misses Godwin's sensitive parts.

Godwin is still on wobbly legs! Can Lomax finish him?
Godwin tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lomax is able to avoid easily.
Godwin misses with a body punch
and Lomax rattles Godwin with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Godwin tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Lomax dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Godwin stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Vincent Lomax!
Vincent Lomax opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
