Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Ringo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Miller looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.
Miller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ringo is keeping the position for now.
Ringo pulls Miller in to control the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ringo is on top in guard.
Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Miller throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ringo uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ringo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ringo lands a decent elbow from side control.

Ringo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ringo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ringo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miller, who protects the arm well.

Miller bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Miller is looking to slow Ringo down with leg kicks.
Ringo lands a right hook to the body.
Miller lands a slapping body shot.
Miller checks a low kick from Ringo.
Miller lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Miller tries to clinch up.

Miller clinches up against the cage.
Miller drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ringo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ringo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Miller can't get the takedown.

Ringo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Miller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ringo wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

Miller looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Miller will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ringo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Miller wants to control but Ringo postures up.
Miller tries to buck Ringo off but Ringo is having none of it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Miller can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ringo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Ringo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Ringo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Miller sprawls well initially but Ringo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Miller is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ringo scores with a couple of nice shots.
Johnny Ringo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ringo trying to control the action but Miller is working from the bottom.

Miller looking for submissions off his back.
Miller wants to get back to full guard.
Ringo controlling the pace.
Miller is looking to escape.

Ringo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ringo passes the guard and advances to mount!
Miller slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ringo prevents Miller from improving his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ringo is taking a breather. Miller says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Miller trying to control but Ringo postures up.
Ringo is nestled in close to Miller, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Miller won't allow Ringo to pass to mount.
Ringo slips a nice elbow through Miller's hands, connecting with Miller's forehead.
Ringo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Miller!

Ringo is working for a guillotine from mount but Miller frees his head quite easily.
Miller is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Ringo lands a big shot there that rocks Miller but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Miller tries to reverse the position but Ringo maintains control.
Ringo is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ringo lands with some strikes.
Miller in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Miller tries to reverse the position but Ringo maintains control.
Ringo looking to control but Miller is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Miller is wriggling around trying to escape.
Miller tries to hold on but Ringo postures up.
Ringo with the ground and pound from mount.


Miller is rocked!


It looks like Matt Miller has been cut.

Ringo with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Oh Miller is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ringo controlling his opponent.
Ringo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Miller can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Ringo is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Miller is forced to tap! Great finish!
