Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cory Landers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Landers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peters!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peters closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peters lands in his opponent's guard.
Landers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Peters postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Landers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peters, into his guard.

Peters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Landers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Peters working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Landers.

Peters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Landers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Landers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Peters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Landers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Peters looks gassed!

Peters is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Landers trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peters keeping full guard, as Landers tries to pass.
Peters has a closed guard, preventing Landers from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Landers misses with a series of wild punches.
Landers shoots and misses

and Peters counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Landers will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Landers tries to strike from the bottom.
Peters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Landers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Landers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Peters drops back, looking for a kneebar! Landers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Landers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Landers!
Peters is trying to work for a sweep but Landers has mounted him!
Landers thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Landers looking to control but Peters is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Landers wants to stand but Peters is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Peters is desperately trying to improve his position but Landers has a good base and remains in mount.
Peters is squirming around, avoiding Landers's attempts to control the action.
Peters is looking to get to half guard.

Landers wants to finish this one by submission but Peters is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Landers.
Peters working to try and regain half guard.
Landers sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peters is looking to improve his position but Landers isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Landers looking to ground and pound but Peters is blocking nicely.
Peters regains half guard.
Peters tries to roll over but Landers keeps him under control.

Peters is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Landers pulls his head out easily.

Peters looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Peters actively working from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Peters dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Landers doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Peters counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Peters passes Landers's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Peters is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Landers sees it coming and defends easily.

Peters is looking for a kimura here.
Landers wants to improve his position but Peters is controlling well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Landers trying to control here.

Peters is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Landers is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Peters pulls his head out easily.

Peters is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Landers defends it well.
Landers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peters is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Peters drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Peters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Landers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Landers wants to get back to his feet but Peters drags him back down.

Peters tries for a kimura but Landers is defending well.

Peters is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Landers has escaped the position, nice work there.
Landers pushes Peters away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peters gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Peters has hold of Landers's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Landers tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Peters cranks the arm and Landers screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Landers, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
