And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 23 losses; Marcelinho Lima! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Scott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Scott is thwarting Lima's attempts to control the position. Scott is looking to advance position but Lima won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lima has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Lima tries to escape but Scott has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Scott is not going to allow Lima to sit and survive in this position. Lima felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
