Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grip Schnieder (ranked 2962 p4p, 3039 weight class) and Maxton Hefferman (ranked 75 p4p, 0 weight class). Hefferman has chosen enemies as his entrance music. Maxton Hefferman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grip Schnieder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxton Hefferman! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schnieder shoots in for a takedown but Hefferman shows good takedown defense. Schnieder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hefferman. Schnieder shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schnieder showed some decent athleticism there. Schnieder trying to pass the guard but Hefferman defending well. Hefferman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schnieder lands strikes from half guard. Schnieder is trying to work for a kimura but Hefferman is defending well.
Hefferman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Schnieder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hefferman is just riding it out for now. Schnieder eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schnieder tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hefferman controls his leg. Schnieder not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hefferman tries to roll over but Schnieder keeps him under control. Schnieder seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hefferman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hefferman is looking to improve his position.
Schnieder wants to stand up but Hefferman has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Schnieder perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schnieder trying to pass the guard but Hefferman defending well. Hefferman is trying to control but can't.
Schnieder lands with a punch from half guard. Hefferman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Schnieder thows a huge punch but Hefferman dodges it nicely.
Schnieder controlling the action here. Schnieder working the head and body with strikes. Schnieder seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Schnieder tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hefferman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schnieder seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Schnieder not landing any meaningful shots this time. Schnieder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hefferman keeps working. Schnieder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Schnieder is working for a kimura but Hefferman is defending it quite comfortably.
Schnieder takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schnieder works his foot free and advances to mount. Hefferman tries to lock up and control but Schnieder gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Schnieder scoring with strikes but Hefferman is staying in there. Schnieder connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Schnieder tries to control but Hefferman wriggling away. Schnieder tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schnieder can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hefferman is looking to escape. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Grip Schnieder dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Hefferman avoids the head kick by Schnieder.
Hefferman changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Schnieder looking to score a takedown here. Hefferman is defending well but Schnieder drives through and ends up in Hefferman's guard. Schnieder wants to stand but Hefferman is controlling his posture from full guard. Schnieder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hefferman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schnieder engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Schnieder stopping the sweep attempt from Hefferman. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schnieder lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hefferman wants to improve his position but instead Schnieder has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hefferman tries to get to full guard but Schnieder has control of the leg. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Schnieder connects with a nice short shot to Hefferman's temple. Hefferman taking some punishment here, with Schnieder in his half guard. Schnieder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hefferman can do to turn this around? Schnieder with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Schnieder is thwarting Hefferman's attempts to control the position. Hefferman is breathing heavily. Schnieder not doing much here.
Hefferman won't allow Schnieder to pass to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hefferman wants to get back to full guard. Schnieder throwing shots but Hefferman is blocking nicely. Schnieder uses his free foot to push down on Hefferman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hefferman. Schnieder swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Grip Schnieder! In defeat, Maxton Hefferman stepped up to the mic, saying 'we will get better we will get stronger and we will try again'.
