Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vaughn Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Woods might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jackson 5 - ABC. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Woods! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vaughn Taylor! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor moves out of range as Woods strikes. Taylor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Woods throws out the jab. Woods looks to land a right hand but Taylor moved out of range. Woods dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Woods throws a hook but Taylor blocks it. Woods rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Taylor moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice takedown defense from Woods. No joy for Taylor on that attempt. Woods throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Woods swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods throws a big shot that misses. Woods scores a takedown into full mount! Woods get's back to his feet. Taylor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Woods.
Woods fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Woods misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Taylor. Woods jabbing away but nothing is landing. Taylor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Woods as he jumps to the side. Taylor bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods looks to score with a jab to the body but Taylor is just out of range. Woods looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taylor is fending him off so far but Woods persists. Nope, Taylor circles away and we're back to standing. Woods looks to land a right hand but Taylor moved out of range. Woods connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Manny Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Woods, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Woods lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taylor circles away quickly and effectively. Taylor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Woods cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Manny Woods has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vaughn Taylor.

It looks like Vaughn Taylor has been cut. Woods gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Taylor counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Woods's guard now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Woods is looking to stand up but Taylor isn't so interested in that idea. Taylor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Taylor stands up and waves to Woods to follow him. Taylor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Taylor wants to stand but Woods has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Woods wants to get back to his feet.

Taylor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Woods sees it coming and defends easily. Taylor is breathing heavily. Woods makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Woods. Taylor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taylor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Woods looking to hit a scissor sweep but Taylor is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woods is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Taylor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woods gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Taylor keeping moving, preventing Woods from controlling successfully. Woods tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Woods decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Woods scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Taylor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor swings away with a leg kick that misses. Taylor keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Woods. Woods works over Taylor's head and body with a nice combination. A telegraphed right hand from Woods misses the target. Taylor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Woods circles away. Woods lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Good shot there by Woods. Taylor ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Woods connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Taylor ducks under a wild hook from Woods. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Taylor is looking for a triangle here but Woods uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woods is staying tight to Taylor's torso, preventing him from escaping. Woods has control of an arm but Taylor manages to advance to Woods's back! A bit of a pause in the action here. Woods controlling the positon. Taylor looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Vaughn Taylor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Woods keeps control of the position easily here as Taylor tries to buck him off.
And that's the end of the fight! Manny Woods showed his dominance in that final round. Well Woods has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
