Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Peterson (ranked 524 p4p, 845 weight class) and Scott Hill (ranked 80 p4p, 129 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Scott Hill was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scott Hill! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Hill swinging wildly here.
Hill tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice jab there from Peterson. Peterson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hill doesn't seem bothered though. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Peterson connects with a crisp jab. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hill. Hill fails to land the takedown. Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A momentary lapse in concentration from Peterson enables Hill to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peterson is working hard here to advance position. Peterson has his hands on Hill's head, controlling the position. Peterson continues to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hill working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hill postures up.
Hill postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Peterson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hill. Hill scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Peterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Peterson, not yet. My spies in Irish Collar & Elbow Academy (ICE) inform me that Hill has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Hill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peterson's head. Peterson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Peterson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hill has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hill has his foot on Peterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peterson works his way back into a safe position though. Peterson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Peterson chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hill keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully. Hill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hill has his foot on Peterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peterson works his way back into a safe position though. Peterson is in close to Hill's body, working some short punches and elbows. Peterson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Peterson is pushing down on Hill's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hill is fighting to maintain full guard but Peterson has managed to sneak the leg through. Hill actively working from the bottom here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peterson working Hill over with strikes. Peterson winds up and cracks Hill with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Peterson prevents Hill from improving his position. Peterson drops an elbow to the side of Hill's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hill is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Peterson pulls his head out easily. Peterson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Peterson is trying to control the action in half guard but Hill is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Peterson is nestled in close to Hill, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hill trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Peterson manages to pass to mount!
Peterson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hill's face.
Hill is wriggling around trying to escape.
Peterson landing strikes from the mount. Peterson prevents Hill from getting the reversal. Peterson avoids the attempt from Hill to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hill is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hill can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! BOOM! Peterson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson with a couple of short strikes. Hill bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Peterson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Peterson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hill darts in and clinches Peterson up against the cage. Peterson pushes Hill back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hill jumps guard but Peterson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Hill pulls guard successfully.

We've been hearing that Peterson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Hill had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peterson defends it easily. Peterson won't allow Hill to sweep him here.

Peterson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hill on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hill is rocked! Peterson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hill is still in real trouble! Can Peterson finish him? Peterson connects with a bit shot that sees Hill covering up! More strikes from Peterson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Peterson is our winner by TKO!
