PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ramzes Treci (ranked 4118 p4p, 4082 weight class) and Bobby Cox (ranked 510 p4p, 505 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramzes Treci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Cox!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cox fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Treci sprawls well initially but Cox persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cox prevents Treci from improving his position.
Treci is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cox scores with a couple of nice shots.
Treci is trying to control but can't.
Treci is looking to improve his position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cox in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like Cox might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Treci is looking for a sweep. Cox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cox is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Treci defends it well.

Cox slows the pace down in half guard.

That's time! Treci's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Treci shoots in looking for a takedown. Cox tries to sprawl out of it but Treci keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cox manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Treci displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cox throws out the jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Treci enables Cox to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Treci manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Treci has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cox is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Treci.

Cox decides to stand up, so the ref orders Treci to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Treci.
Treci will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cox seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cox has Treci up against the cage in a clinch.
Treci changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cox fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Treci has momentary wrist control but Cox slips an elbow through the middle.
Cox controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Cox throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Treci was covering up waiting for the punch and Cox finishes the takedown easily into guard.
