Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darry Curtis (ranked 1242 p4p, 833 weight class) and D.C. Benny (ranked 166 p4p, 106 weight class). Curtis's entrance music is Stevie Wonder - Stay Gold. A fine choice. Benny has chosen DC Benny - Unagi as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Benny.
Benny looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Benny throws a body punch but Curtis moves out of range.
Curtis takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Benny throws out a loose jab but Curtis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Benny misses with a hook. Curtis ducked under it nicely.
Benny blocks a leg kick.
Curtis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Benny scores with a sloppy right hand. Curtis should have avoided that one.
Curtis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Benny takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Curtis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Curtis lands with an uppercut that bounces Benny off the cage and back into range.
Curtis thuds his right hand into Benny's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Some bone on bone action there as Benny checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

It looks like Darry Curtis has been cut.

Benny has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

A nice side step and Benny releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Curtis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Benny is out of range and Curtis settles back down.

Curtis pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Benny lunges at Curtis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Curtis's hand.

Benny creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Curtis's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Curtis drops to his knees and Benny pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
