Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Mohan (ranked 2633 p4p, 3400 weight class) and Anderson Emerski (ranked 310 p4p, 374 weight class). Mohan comes to the cage accompanied by Jamez Levels- Good Punani. Anderson Emerski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Mohan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Emerski! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mohan ducks right into an uppercut from Emerski. Mohan misses with a telegraphed body shot
so Emerski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mohan keeping moving, preventing Emerski from controlling successfully. Emerski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mohan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Emerski is controlling him. Emerski won't allow Mohan to sweep him here. Mohan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Mohan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Emerski manages to get himself to full guard.

Emerski working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mohan. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emerski avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mohan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mohan throwing strikes but missing. Mohan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Emerski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mohan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mohan wants to get up but he can't break Emerski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mohan instigates a clinch. Mohan stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Emerski tries to pull guard but Mohan forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Emerski is working for takedown but Mohan is calmly controlling the position for now. Emerski tries for a takedown but Mohan manages to get underhooks.
Robert Mohan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Emerski. Mohan has Emerski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Emerski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mohan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Emerski is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Our sources have told us that Mohan has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Emerski tries to score a body lock takedown but Mohan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mohan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Emerski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mohan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mohan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mohan stands up and waves to Emerski to follow him. Mohan misses with a kick to the body.

Emerski fails with the takedown. Emerski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Emerski throws a hook but Mohan blocks it. Emerski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mohan avoids it really well and circles away.

It looks like Anderson Emerski has been cut. Emerski sizes up Mohan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Emerski scores with a jab to the head.
Mohan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mohan slips under a jab from Emerski. Emerski ducks under a wild hook from Mohan. Emerski with the counter takedown but Mohan avoids it easily. Mohan throws a series of strikes that have Emerski backpedaling.
Robert Mohan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mohan has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mohan maintains the clinch. Emerski drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mohan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Emerski tries to sprawl but Mohan drives through with a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Mohan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Emerski is positioning himself well to prevent Mohan advancing to mount.

Emerski blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mohan. Emerski is looking to control Mohan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Emerski avoid being mounted? Mohan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Emerski is trying to stand up here but Mohan is controlling him well. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Robert Mohan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Emerski is trying to control but Mohan passes into side control!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emerski can do anything to dispel that myth. Emerski is not content to let Mohan control the position.

Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Emerski lands a jab. Emerski lands with a right hand. Emerski tries to move into range but Mohan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mohan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Emerski throws an overhand right that lands on Mohan's shoulder, as Mohan tries to avoid the shot. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mohan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Mohan looks for a takedown but Emerski sprawls well. Mohan looks to land a body kick but Emerski moved away. Emerski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mohan sees it coming and avoids it easily. A little feinted left hand from Mohan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Emerski fails in his attempt to clinch. Mohan dives in and grabs Emerski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emerski pushes down on Mohan's head and hops out. Mohan pulls out of a head kick attempt.

It partially lands. Emerski lands a nice looking body shot.
Anderson Emerski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Emerski connects with a single shot there. The fighters circling - Emerski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Emerski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mohan's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Anderson Emerski. Well Mohan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
