Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Renoa Gracie (ranked 62 p4p, 117 weight class) and Gorgon Patriot (ranked 9 p4p, 15 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Apaga Mas Não Bate blaring out of the sound system. Renoa Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gorgon Patriot's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Renoa Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gorgon Patriot!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Gracie gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Gracie gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Gracie apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Patriot moves forwards but Gracie connects with a nice, crisp jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Patriot throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
As Patriot tries to get set, Gracie tries to push him back and clinch up but Patriot manages to avoid the attempt.
Patriot throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Patriot's temple.

Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Patriot is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Patriot circles away and we're back to standing.
Patriot takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patriot manages to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Renoa Gracie.
I think Gracie has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
