The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whymer moves away from the strike by Phoenix.
Whymer misses with a lunging right hand
and Phoenix cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Whymer connects with a solid leg kick.
Whymer lands a jab to the nose.
Whymer throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Phoenix connects with a crisp jab.
Whymer jabs at Phoenix's body.
Whymer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Phoenix has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Whymer tests Phoenix's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Blake Phoenix has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Phoenix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Phoenix has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Whymer.
Phoenix throws a series of punches but Whymer moves out of range.

Phoenix throws a looping overhand right but Whymer ducks down to avoid it.
Phoenix might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Whymer scores with the left hand. Phoenix knows he should have avoided that one.

Phoenix's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Whymer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Phoenix stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Phoenix is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Whymer.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Phoenix might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Whymer has got the better of the exchanges.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whymer finds Phoenix's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Phoenix flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Whymer lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Phoenix will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Just Whymer!
Our winner, Just Whymer, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
