Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between BigDaddy KickYoButt (ranked 4143 p4p, 3405 weight class) and Maxton Hefferman (ranked 493 p4p, 0 weight class). Hefferman has chosen enemies as his entrance music. Maxton Hefferman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxton Hefferman!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KickYoButt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hefferman avoids it really well and circles away.
KickYoButt is looking to clinch but Hefferman is avoiding it.
Hefferman is trying hard to land a takedown here. KickYoButt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
KickYoButt attempts a counter takedown but Hefferman avoids it well and moves away.

Hefferman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but KickYoButt is on him like a limpet, forcing Hefferman back against the cage.

Hefferman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
KickYoButt tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hefferman presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Hefferman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
