Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Rocksteady (ranked 3795 p4p, 3987 weight class) and Danny Trejo (ranked 453 p4p, 465 weight class). Rocksteady's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Red Right Hand. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Danny Trejo enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Rocksteady! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Trejo! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trejo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rocksteady pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trejo is keeping the position for now. Rocksteady throwing strikes but missing. Trejo wants to get back to his feet but Rocksteady is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trejo keeping full guard, as Rocksteady tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trejo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trejo keeping full guard, as Rocksteady tries to pass. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Rocksteady won't allow Trejo to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. We've been informed that Trejo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Jab, jab by Trejo - just one landing. Rocksteady takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rocksteady digs a good body shot into Trejo's ribs. Rocksteady swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Rocksteady counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rocksteady is working for a kimura but Trejo is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rocksteady tries to pass to full mount but Trejo defends it. Rocksteady throwing shots but Trejo is blocking nicely. Trejo wants to get back to his feet.

Trejo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Rocksteady blocks the body kick.

and Rocksteady counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Trejo! Rocksteady goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Trejo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rocksteady's guard! Nice work there by Trejo! Rocksteady wants to sweep here but Trejo controlling him for the moment. Rocksteady is trying to control the position but Trejo postures up. Rocksteady might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trejo won't allow Rocksteady to sweep him here. Trejo wanted to stand there but Rocksteady had control of the position. Rocksteady is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trejo defends well. Rocksteady throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Danny Trejo dominated that round. That's time! Rocksteady's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Trejo throws a head kick that misses and Rocksteady counters with a nice double leg into guard. Trejo wriggles free and stands up. Rocksteady ducks under a wild hook from Trejo. A head kick from Trejo lands but Rocksteady takes it in his stride. Trejo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Trejo throws a sloppy head kick and Rocksteady counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trejo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rocksteady. Rocksteady seems to be working for a kimura but Trejo defends the submission attempt. Rocksteady thows a huge punch but Trejo dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocksteady is trying to work for a kimura but Trejo is defending well.
Trejo wants to get back to his feet.
Rocksteady is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Trejo still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Trejo has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trejo decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trejo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Danny Trejo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rocksteady shoots in and drives through. Trejo sprawls well. The fighters circling - Trejo throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Danny Trejo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rocksteady blocks a head kick by Trejo.
Rocksteady steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Trejo. Nice body punch from Trejo. Trejo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rocksteady on the side of the head. Rocksteady lands with a nice body punch. Rocksteady slips a straight right by Trejo. Rocksteady tries to counter with a takedown but Trejo is quick to defend against it. Trejo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rocksteady manages to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trejo looks to land a right hand but Rocksteady moved out of range. Rocksteady takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Trejo throws a sloppy head kick and Rocksteady moves out of range easily.

Trejo lands a nice hook to Rocksteady's body. Rocksteady takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Trejo looks to score with a jab to the body but Rocksteady is just out of range. Trejo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Trejo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Trejo, as that shot connected.
Trejo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Trejo throws a lazy head kick and Rocksteady counters with a single leg into guard. Trejo didn't expect that. Rocksteady wants to control from the top but Trejo keeps moving. Trejo is looking to stand back up but Rocksteady counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Trejo. Trejo pushes Rocksteady off looking to stand but Rocksteady dives back in and keeps control.

Rocksteady is looking for a kimura but Trejo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rocksteady to get the leverage. Trejo is in trouble now - Rocksteady has advanced to mount! Trejo avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rocksteady.

Danny Trejo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Trejo swings and misses with a shot to the body and Rocksteady counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rocksteady postures up in Trejo's guard and throws a big left but Trejo blocks it. Trejo wants to get back to his feet but Rocksteady is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rocksteady missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rocksteady throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trejo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rocksteady is looking to work some ground and pound but Trejo has wrist control. James Rocksteady overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rocksteady trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Trejo wriggles free and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trejo lands a left and a right that send Rocksteady crashing to the mat, dazed. Trejo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like James Rocksteady has been cut. Rocksteady misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Trejo.
Oh Rocksteady is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Trejo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rocksteady appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Rocksteady seems to have got his legs back now. Trejo is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. The fighters circling - Trejo throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Trejo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rocksteady moves away. Trejo scores with a nice right hand.
Rocksteady steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Trejo. Rocksteady takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. This has been an exciting period of action! Trejo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sloppy strikes from Trejo. Those never looked like landing. Trejo misses the shot to the body. James Rocksteady has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trejo misses the jab. Rocksteady tries to counter with a takedown but Trejo is quick to defend against it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rocksteady. Trejo sneaks out the side door and pushes Rocksteady away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Some wild striking there from Trejo.
Rocksteady attempts a counter takedown but Trejo avoids it well and moves away. Rocksteady has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Trejo throws a sloppy head kick and Rocksteady moves out of range easily. A big right from Trejo misses. Rocksteady tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Trejo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocksteady drives through with a takedown into Trejo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rocksteady scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Trejo is looking to stand up but Rocksteady isn't so interested in that idea. Rocksteady pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trejo is keeping the position for now. Trejo keeping moving, preventing Rocksteady from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocksteady in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rocksteady wants to control from the top but Trejo keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Danny Trejo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Trejo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Trejo misses with a looping left. Rocksteady changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Rocksteady displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Trejo throws out the jab. Rocksteady moves in looking to clinch but Trejo pushes him off. Trejo misses with a body shot.
Rocksteady appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Trejo cracks Rocksteady with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Trejo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Trejo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
