Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Houston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo moves away from the strike by Houston.
Ringo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ringo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Houston.
Houston tries to land a front kick but Ringo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Houston loads up on a big right hand but Ringo slips the punch.
Ringo lands with a shot to the body.
Ringo ducks under a wild hook from Houston.
Houston misses with a hook. Ringo ducked under it nicely.
Ringo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Houston.
Ringo lands a nice hook to Houston's body. Houston takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Houston connects with the punch.
Houston avoids the head kick by Ringo.
Houston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ringo moves away.
Houston thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nice defenses there by Ringo.
Houston misses the jab.
Ringo moves out of range of the strikes.
Ringo scores with a nice head shot.
Ringo shoots in for a double leg but Houston sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ringo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Houston.

Houston lands a head kick. Ringo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ringo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ringo throws a series of punches but Houston avoids them all with ease.
Houston with a jab.
Ringo lands with a nice combination. Houston backs away looking to recover.
Houston is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A head kick by Houston misses
and Ringo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Ringo avoids the body shot from Houston.
Houston throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ringo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Houston lands a body shot.
Ringo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Austin Houston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ringo throws a head kick that half lands.
Houston is looking to clinch.

Ringo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Houston did well to prevent Ringo getting side control.
Houston keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Houston is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Houston desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Houston wants to control but Ringo is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Ringo seems content to control.
Ringo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Houston!
Houston wants to hold on but Ringo pushes him away.
Ringo trying to control but Houston is having none of it.

Ringo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Houston can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ringo working the ground and pound effectively.
Houston is desperately trying to improve his position but Ringo has a good base and remains in mount.
Ringo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Houston is trying desperately to improve position.
Houston wants to control but Ringo is having none of it.
Ringo controlling the position easily from mount.
Houston tries to hold on but Ringo postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ringo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Houston is trying to escape the mount.

Ringo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Houston turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Ringo off and cradles Houston's limp body as Ringo celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Johnny Ringo!
