Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kaoru Nagashima (ranked 1700 p4p, 2490 weight class) and Naoko Marui (ranked 182 p4p, 246 weight class). Kaoru Nagashima has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaoru Nagashima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 23 - 1, fighting out of London, Naoko Marui!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ron Honeybunn and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagashima gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Marui misses with a series of wild punches.
Marui misses with a looping left.
Nagashima tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Marui manages to circle out of the way.
Marui throws a shot to the body.
Marui tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nagashima was well out of range. Poor timing from Marui.
Nagashima is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Marui.
Marui misses with a lunging right hand

and Nagashima counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Marui wants to sweep here but Nagashima controlling him for the moment.
Nagashima will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marui keeps trying to improve his position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nagashima accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nagashima throws a strike but Marui rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Nagashima working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marui doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marui manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nagashima is looking to cinch up a triangle. Marui throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nagashima's body to avoid the submission. Nagashima has instead reached around Marui's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nagashima arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kaoru Nagashima!
An intense looking Kaoru Nagashima took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Going into this fight I knew I could not let Donkey Dan down, his elusive Donkey Kick is the one tool missing from my arsenal, Donkey Dan! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!'.
