Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Chugman (ranked 2625 p4p, 5656 weight class) and Pinero Chai (ranked 316 p4p, 471 weight class). Chai has chosen Styles P - Off The Ghost as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 9 - 3, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pinero Chai! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chai swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Chugman attempts a counter takedown but Chai avoids it well and moves away. Chugman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Chai turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Chugman checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Chai misses with a low kick.
Chugman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chai sprawls and moves away. Chugman blocks a leg kick. Chugman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Chai thows a leg kick but Chugman checks it and Chugman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Chai is not content to let Chugman control the position. Chai is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chai pushes Chugman off looking to stand but Chugman dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chugman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chai defending well though. Chugman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chai is looking to escape. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chugman in particular looking to stall. Chugman missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've been hearing that Chugman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Chugman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chai keeps working.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A chopping leg kick lands by Chai. Chai misses with a wild body shot. Chai takes a swing at Chugman's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chugman takes a swing at Chai's ribcage but misses. Chai only half commits to the counter leg kick. Chugman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chai tries to land a leg kick but Chugman saw it coming and moves away.
Good leg kick by Chai. Chai attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Chugman attempts a counter takedown but Chai avoids it well and moves away. Chai lands with a shot to the body. Chai misses with a wild combination.
Chai throws a nice inside leg kick. A low kick from Chai is predictable there and Chugman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chai looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chugman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Chugman content to control rather than advance. Chai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chugman. Chai has hold of Chugman's hands but Chugman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Chai pushes Chugman off looking to stand but Chugman dives back in and keeps control.
Chai is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Chugman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chai defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Chugman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chugman in particular looking to stall. Chugman is trying to control the action in half guard but Chai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Chugman stops Chai from getting back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chugman staying out of range there. Chugman moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chugman is trying to trip Chai. He has hold of a leg but Chai is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chugman persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Chugman is working Chai over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Chugman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Klaus Chugman will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Chai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A cross from Chai lands. The fight stays on the outside here - Chugman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chai looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Chugman avoids the body shot from Chai.
Chugman doesn't manage to clinch there - Chai circles away.

and Chugman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chai won't be happy with that. Chugman trying to control the position but Chai is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman is chipping away with strikes.
Chai throws Chugman to one side and escapes! This has been an exciting period of action! Chai throws a front kick aimed at Chugman's knee but Chugman avoids it well. Chugman attempts a counter takedown but Chai avoids it well and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chugman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chai throws a lazy right hand but Chugman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Chugman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Chugman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Chugman is working for a kimura but Chai is defending it quite comfortably.
Chugman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chai sees it coming and defends easily. Chugman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chugman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chai is not content to let Chugman control the position. Chugman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chugman wants to pass to mount but Chai is defending the position. Chugman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chugman misses with a head shot. Chai uses the momentum to regain guard. Chai keeping moving, preventing Chugman from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chugman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chai is looking to stand up but Chugman isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Chai keeps the fight on the outside. Nice straight punches there by Chai. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chai. Chai moves into range and connects with a jab. Chai swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Chugman scores with a takedown into Chai's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chai keeping moving, preventing Chugman from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Pinero Chai will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Chai feints and then cracks Chugman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Chugman down. Chai throws a predictable looking body shot
and Chugman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Chugman is trying to control the action in half guard but Chai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Chai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chugman. Chugman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Chugman is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Chai reverses the position - he's now on top in Chugman's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman has an active guard here but Chai has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chugman tries to get to full guard but Chai has control of the leg.

Chai postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Chugman to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chai connects with an inside leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Chai. That's going to slow Chugman down. Chai jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pinero Chai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chai lands a nice shot that snaps Chugman's head back.
Chai throws a leg kick and Chugman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Chugman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chugman is stalling here. Chai is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chugman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Chai has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Chugman is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chugman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Chai manages to escape and get back to his feet! Chai connects with a right hand. Chugman shakes it off. Chai thows a leg kick but Chugman checks it and Chugman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Chai is not content to let Chugman control the position. Chugman wants to pass to mount but Chai is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chugman in particular looking to stall. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chai is looking to escape. Chugman wants to control but Chai is keeping him busy. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Chai looks like he's trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight! Pinero Chai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Chai has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
