Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin McDade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erasmo Bezerra!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Bezerra.

Bezerra gets a takedown into half guard.
Bezerra thows a huge punch but McDade dodges it nicely.
Bezerra trying to control from half guard but McDade is working away.

Bezerra is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McDade is just riding it out for now. Bezerra eventually gives up the hold.
Bezerra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDade wants to get back to full guard.

Bezerra is trying to control. McDade wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bezerra takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McDade's coaches at Hammer House of Horror have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bezerra connects with a nice short shot to McDade's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bezerra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McDade tries to roll over but Bezerra keeps him under control.
Bezerra wants to take a breather but McDade is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bezerra throws a jab when McDade was well out of range.
McDade swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bezerra listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bezerra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDade is fending him off so far but Bezerra persists. Nope, McDade circles away and we're back to standing.
McDade displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bezerra.
It looked like McDade was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bezerra swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
An attempted straight right counter from McDade misses the target.
McDade throws a shot from downtown. Bezerra moves away and avoids it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Erasmo Bezerra dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

McDade walks into a jab.
McDade uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bezerra.
Bezerra takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Bezerra gets the takedown into side control.
McDade is looking to regain half guard here but Bezerra keeps moving and retains side control.
Bezerra misses with the ground and pound.
McDade is trying to control Bezerra's posture but Bezerra avoids it.

McDade takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McDade tries to buck Bezerra off but Bezerra is having none of it.
Bezerra wants to control but McDade is keeping him busy.

Bezerra goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, McDade rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bezerra's guard! Nice work there by McDade!

Bezerra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McDade defends well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bezerra is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDade keeping full guard, as Bezerra tries to pass.

Bezerra keeps trying to improve his position.
Bezerra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bezerra distracts McDade with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bezerra lands a couple of digs.
McDade keeping moving, preventing Bezerra from controlling successfully.
Bezerra slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bezerra sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McDade is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bezerra looks up at the clock and then as McDade takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bezerra smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bezerra controls the position.
Bezerra has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McDade is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bezerra is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
McDade is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bezerra connects with a decent elbow.

Bezerra has an Americana. McDade didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bezerra is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bezerra hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Erasmo Bezerra!
After winning the bout, Erasmo Bezerra thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
