The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ throws a lazy uppercut
and Makkonen counters with a three punch combo that has Christ backing up. Christ nods at Makkonen to acknowledge the strikes.
Makkonen's corner calls for a 1-2. Makkonen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Joel Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Makkonen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Makkonen prevents Christ from getting back to his feet.
Christ wants to get back to his feet but Makkonen passes into half guard.
Christ's coaches at Zero Tolerance have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
