Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 4613 p4p, 2204 weight class) and Ronan Darongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darongo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Chaos And Destruction. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronan Darongo! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darongo throws a body punch but Mir moves out of range. Mir feinted with a counter takedown. Darongo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Darongo closes the distance and clinches. Mir drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Darongo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Darongo is leaning against Mir and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Darongo lands with a short head shot on the inside. Darongo lands a shoulder strike. Darongo works on Mir's body with a couple of short punches. Mir is breathing heavily. Darongo lands a hook that snaps the head of Mir backwards. Mir tries to pull guard but Darongo forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Darongo lands with a short shot to the head. Darongo lands a body shot in the clinch.
Darongo gets through Mir's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Darongo lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A right hook to the body lands for Darongo.
Darongo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mir regains guard immediately. Mir is looking for a triangle here but Darongo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Darongo happy to just control the position for now. Darongo is continuing to stall. Mir could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Darongo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Mir is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Darongo is staying tight to Mir's torso, preventing him from escaping. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Darongo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mir's shoulder. That is not cool. Mir sneaks back into half guard. Darongo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The adventures of Darongo the control monster continue. Boring. Mir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Darongo content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Darongo moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Mir. Darongo in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mir sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Darongo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Mir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Darongo sitting and controlling from the half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ronan Darongo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Darongo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nice shot lands for Darongo. Darongo darts in and clinches Mir up against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Darongo. Mir wants a takedown.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Darongo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Darongo pushes Mir back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Darongo stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Darongo lands with a left to the head. Ronan Darongo seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Darongo lands with a short shot to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Darongo presses Mir against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Darongo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mir clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, with Darongo on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Mir is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Darongo has the hooks in. Mir is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Mir is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Darongo.
More stalling from Darongo. Darongo throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Darongo keeps control of the position as Mir tries to break free.
Darongo controls the position. Mir is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Darongo controlling from the back. Mir is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Darongo is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Let's hope that Darongo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Darongo. Darongo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Darongo has the hooks in. Ronan Darongo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round! Left hook, right uppercut from Darongo.
It looks like Frank Mir has been cut. Darongo with a body punch. A glancing blow. Darongo catches Mir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Darongo thuds a left hand into Mir's body. Darongo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mir stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Darongo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mir is landing a low percentage of strikes. Darongo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Darongo clinches with his opponent.
Still in the clinch, Darongo scores with a nice short uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Darongo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Darongo digs a right hand into Mir's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Mir's gas tank. Still in the clinch, Darongo scores with a nice short uppercut. Darongo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is working for takedown but Darongo is calmly controlling the position for now. Darongo working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Mir is rocked! With the fighters clinched against the cage, Darongo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Oh Mir is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Darongo. Darongo pushes Mir back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Nice body punch from Darongo - that landed with a thud.
Darongo lands with a light punch inside. Darongo creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Mir with a big uppercut! Mir tries to clinch up but Darongo pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Mir to the mat! Mir covers up and Darongo unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ronan Darongo! A very excited looking Ronan Darongo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
