The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahoney dives in and grabs Cornish's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cornish pushes down on Mahoney's head and hops out.
Cornish lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mahoney circles away quickly and effectively.
Cornish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mahoney is looking to clinch but Cornish is avoiding it.
Mahoney shoots in for a double leg but Cornish sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
