Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roelof Gerritzen (ranked 2443 p4p, 24714 weight class) and Larry Lewandowski (ranked 328 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewandowski has chosen Welcome to Bavaria! as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewandowski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gerritzen appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Gerritzen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lewandowski is looking to stand back up but Gerritzen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lewandowski.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lewandowski can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gerritzen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gerritzen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Gerritzen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gerritzen postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Lewandowski badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Gerritzen around the waist but Gerritzen pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Gerritzen is the winner by TKO! Gerritzen jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
