And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vinny Griggs!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Donatello Bradman and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Hopson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A jab from Griggs misses.
A little feinted left hand from Hopson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Griggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
An attempted straight right counter from Hopson misses the target.
Griggs throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hopson misses with a left hand
and Griggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice defenses there by Griggs.
Griggs unleashes a big counter combination but Hopson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hopson throws a right hand that misses
and Griggs counters with a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griggs throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hopson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
As Griggs looks to move away, Hopson throws a big counter combo but Griggs just gets out of the way.
Griggs misses the jab.
Hopson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Griggs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hopson misses with the combination.
Griggs throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hopson counters with a straight right hand.
Griggs lands a left and a right that send Hopson crashing to the mat, dazed. Griggs thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hopson is rocked!
It looks like Jackson Hopson has been cut.
Hopson throws a right hand that misses
and Griggs counters with a nice body shot.
Oh Hopson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hopson misses with a hook. Griggs ducked under it nicely.
Griggs lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hopson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Griggs dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
