Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 24486 p4p, 24445 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helen Salvacion has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tapad Amiga's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga closes this distance looking for a takedown but Salvacion circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Salvacion closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Amiga's guard.

Amiga is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Salvacion presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Amiga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Amiga shoots in but Salvacion avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Amiga seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Amiga shoots in for a double leg but Salvacion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time.

Amiga darts in looking for a takedown but Salvacion gets double underhooks and turns Amiga into the cage.
Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well.

Salvacion turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Salvacion manages to end up in side control.

Salvacion slows the pace down.
Amiga takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Amiga holds on to Salvacion's head and controls the position momentarily.

Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Salvacion shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amiga's guard.

Amiga doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Salvacion seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Amiga shoots for a takedown but Salvacion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Salvacion avoids a kick to the body.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Salvacion dives in and scores a takedown into Amiga's guard.
Amiga is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Salvacion is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Salvacion is continuing to stall.

Amiga is controlling Salvacion's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amiga wants to stand and escape but Salvacion is having none of it.
Salvacion is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Salvacion shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Salvacion showed some decent athleticism there.

Salvacion is thwarting Amiga's attempts to control the position.

Amiga wants to improve his position but Salvacion is controlling well.
Amiga trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Salvacion is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Amiga can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Amiga tries to lock up and control but Salvacion gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Salvacion tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Salvacion avoids the attempt from Amiga to control.

Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
