PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Miller (ranked 3049 p4p, 3314 weight class) and Bogdan Mironov (ranked 411 p4p, 433 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bogdan Mironov !
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fails in his attempt to clinch.
A little jabbing left from Mironov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mironov misses with a right hand
and Mironov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Miller is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mironov 's half guard.
Mironov is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Miller is working for a submission of some sort.
Mironov preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Miller trying to mount his opponent but Mironov defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miller wants to control but Mironov is keeping him busy.
Mironov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mironov is refusing to be controlled, as Miller sits in half guard.
Miller thows a huge punch but Mironov dodges it nicely.
Miller throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Mironov is doing well to control the position and prevent Miller from advancing to side control.
Miller thows a huge punch but Mironov dodges it nicely.

Miller definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mironov wants to sweep but Miller has passed to side control!

Mironov is looking for a sweep.
Miller works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Mironov isn't going anywhere.
Mironov parries the strikes from Miller easily there. Miller is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mironov to escape.

Miller working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Mironov avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Miller.
Miller wants to control but Mironov is keeping him busy.

Miller tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Mironov is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it.
Miller tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Mironov parries the strikes from Miller easily there. Miller is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mironov to escape.
Mironov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Mironov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Miller trying to control the action but Mironov is working from the bottom.

Mironov prevents Miller from improving position.
Mironov is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it.
Miller has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Mironov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mironov lands with an overhand left.
Miller wants to clinch up but Mironov keeps it at a distance.
Miller moves in looking to clinch but Mironov pushes him off.
Mironov darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

It looks like Joshua Miller has been cut.
Miller tries to clinch there but Mironov circles away.
Mironov jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Miller is rocked!
Mironov lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Miller falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bogdan Mironov !
In his post fight interview, Bogdan Mironov started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
