The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villaruz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pekkis sprawls well initially but Villaruz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pekkis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Villaruz trying to control the action but Pekkis is working from the bottom.
Pekkis is positioning himself well to prevent Villaruz advancing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villaruz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Villaruz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Villaruz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pekkis is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pekkis is desperately trying to improve his position but Villaruz has a good base and remains in mount.

Villaruz tries to control but Pekkis wriggling away.
Villaruz quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Villaruz but it's paid off an Pekkis is forced to tap! Nice work by Villaruz.
