Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Sidorov (ranked 2231 p4p, 4313 weight class) and Ryu Takahara (ranked 312 p4p, 504 weight class). Ryu Takahara will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Sidorov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryu Takahara! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sidorov shoots for a takedown but Takahara saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Takahara is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Takahara fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sidorov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sidorov is nestled in close to Takahara, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Takahara actively working from the bottom here. Takahara felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Takahara trying to hold on to Sidorov's head to control him but Sidorov postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sidorov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sidorov looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sidorov lands with a punch from half guard. Sidorov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sidorov is nestled in close to Takahara, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Takahara is rocked! Sidorov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Takahara is still in real trouble! Can Sidorov finish him? Sidorov postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Takahara in real trouble here! The ref calls for Takahara to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Sidorov! Ivan Sidorov seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
