Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Colt Bennet (ranked 4360 p4p, 4652 weight class) and Brian Ortega (ranked 441 p4p, 453 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colt Bennet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Ortega !
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bennet trying to control the position but instead, Ortega has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bennet into the cage.
Bennet managing to block the knees to the body from Ortega .
Ortega jumps guard but Bennet stands there with Ortega around his waist. Ortega gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bennet stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Bennet has had enough of the clinch but Ortega keeps him there for the moment.
Ortega is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortega goes for a takedown attempt but Bennet pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bennet keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bennet swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Colt Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Ortega .
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jab, jab by Bennet - just one landing.
Ortega moves into range and clinches up with Bennet.
Ortega manages to break the clinch.
Ortega is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bennet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bennet lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ortega has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ortega and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ortega shoots in looking for a takedown. Bennet tries to sprawl out of it but Ortega keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bennet manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ortega has Bennet up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ortega goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bennet prevents it.
Ortega prevents a body shot from Bennet.
Bennet wants to get back to striking at distance but Ortega won't allow it.
Ortega changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bennet fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bennet works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Bennet connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ortega looks for a takedown but Bennet sprawls well.
Good work by Ortega as he checks the leg kick.
Bennet is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Bennet lands with a right hand.
Bennet connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ortega is rocked!
Ortega gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Bennet gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Colt Bennet!
